Pattaya's three-line monorail clears another step — public hearings run to November
Green, Purple and Red lines are back on the table, with the environmental study being revised and public hearings expected September–November 2026. Real progress — but still a study, not a shovel.
Pattaya City has moved its monorail plan forward another notch. At a progress meeting chaired by Mayor Poramese Ngamphichet, the project team resolved to revise the environmental impact assessment and prepare additional supporting data. Public hearings are expected between September and November 2026, with a complete revised report anticipated around January 2027.
The three lines
- Green Line — the main intra-city route, with stops including Pattaya Railway Station, the Dolphin Roundabout, Terminal 21, Central Festival, the Night Bazaar and Bali Hai Pier.
- Purple Line — connecting the city with the Nong Prue area and linking back to the railway station.
- Red Line — a longer-term route running parallel to Jomtien Beach toward the National Stadium area.
The honest read
This is a genuine milestone, and it is worth knowing which streets are in the corridor. But it is an environmental-study milestone, not a construction start — no route is funded, tendered or built yet, and the Green Line's value depends partly on the high-speed rail station it is meant to feed, which has its own long-running delays.
So: don't pay a monorail premium today. If a seller prices a unit on a line that has not passed its EIA, that premium is the seller's optimism, not your asset. Buy the building, the view and the rental reality you can see now; treat the monorail as upside you did not pay for.
