Second Road overhaul underway — 90-day rebuild of central Pattaya's main artery
Pattaya began rebuilding Second Road on 21 July 2026 — new surface, phased 300 m sections from Pattaya Central toward the Dolphin Roundabout, with completion targeted in about 90 days.
Pattaya has started a full rehabilitation of Second Road, the artery that carries most of the traffic through the city centre. Work began on 21 July 2026 and moves in roughly 300-metre sections, starting from the Pattaya Central intersection toward the Dolphin Roundabout, so shops stay reachable while each stretch is rebuilt.
The road is being resurfaced properly rather than patched — years of utility work (water, drainage, power) left it uneven, and the city says no further underground excavation is planned once the new surface is down. Target: completion in about 90 days.
What it means for residents: short-term traffic pain on Second Road through roughly October, then a much smoother main route past Central Pattaya — good news for anyone living in or renting out condos in the city centre.
